My Pandemic New Normal
By RHENNA JUNTILA
I LEARNED about The Feast when it was being held in the Valle Verde Country Club, Pasig City, in 2009.
I was having a counseling session with my Relationship Coach who happened to be also a Feaster.
I told her I wanted to join, but I did not know how to go to the venue. She taught me how, and then the following Sunday, I ventured to attend The Feast. And since then, I’ve been attending regularly.
Within my first year at The Feast, I already became a member of a Caring Group, now called Light Group.
During this Coronavirus Pandemic, I have a Light Group online.
The next year, 2010, Bro. Bo Sanchez, our founder, left Feast Valle Verde to the care of other Feast Builders and he transferred The Feast he leads to the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). In time for the transfer, I started to serve in the Intercessory Ministry, and up to this writing, I am still serving in this Ministry.
During this Coronavirus Pandemic, God manifests His love to me in many ways, setting up my New Normal together with Him.
First, I became much closer to God. I am a teacher by profession. Before
the Pandemic, I was so busy at work I oftentimes complained of having no time to even clean my house. But God did not just give me time to clean and declutter my house. He has given me more time to spend with Him in prayer.
To this day, it is as if I am attending a Silent Retreat every day as I read spiritual books, listen to spiritual talks and join worship online.
At first, I struggled to get used to the daily online Mass, crying hard because I could not receive the Host during Holy Communion. But in time, I eventually felt Jesus present in the Mass, as if talking to me alone, giving me His full attention.
Second, I have set up an organized routine: Morning prayer, have brunch (combined breakfast and lunch), wash my clothes, take a bath.
In the afternoon, I recite the prayer in my Divine Mercy Chaplet, then continue on to the 3:00 p.m. prayer.
Then I start my work-from-home. I work on school forms and finish everything I had to do for the day.
Third, I learned something new. I learned to cook!
But I feel most blessed as God gives me peace of mind and in my heart every day. I have never been more grateful.
