A Miracle for My Father

By BERNADETTE NIEMO

I AM the breadwinner in our family, struggling through two jobs. At the end of each day, I am simply exhausted.

As if I didn’t have enough burden, last June –June 22, 2021,

to be exact—my father got sick. I thought it was just simple fever. But it turned out, he was suffering from severe pain—caused by a mild stroke.

Worried, I didn’t know what to do.

But I always pray to God to give me enough strength to face my life’s challenges. So, when I realized my father’s dire situation, I immediately prayed for his healing. I knew we would have expenses for his treatment. So, I begged God to provide for this, our additional, serious need.

Friends and work colleagues found out about what happened to my father. Some said comforting words, assuring me he would be healed. Others were

not at all encouraging, doubting he would ever recover. Ouch.

I struggled through these positive and negative comments. I pushed away the ugly thoughts and held on to my faith, repeating to myself, my God is a God of Miracles.

Exactly after three weeks since he had stroke, my father recovered. He was healed.

Indeed, God is so good! He surrounded me with people who really supported me– spiritually and financially. In my darkest moments, they were there always reaching out to me.

Thank you, my friends. Above all, thank You, my God of Miracles.
